Cathy, my Mom, had a photo cube on her desk at Northeast High School, where she taught in the business department for many years. This quote was in that cube. Cathy was a success in every sense of the word, and an inspiration to me, and to many others. So, as a tribute to her and a reminder to us, this quote will always be here on her page. "To laugh often and much; To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." -attributed to Ralph Waldo Emerson |
