Cathy's Place
A page dedicated to the memory of Cathy Andringa (1944-1987).
A beloved daughter, sister, mother, teacher & friend who is missed every day.
My Mom, Cathy, and her two sisters, Linda & Libby

Libby...I'm guessing Cathy took the picture based upon the big smile
Last Christmas in Greensboro...Cathy, her mother Gean, Linda & Libby

Cathy, my Mom, had a
photo cube on her desk at
Northeast High School, where
she taught in the business
department for many years.
This quote was in that cube.

Cathy was a success in every
sense of the word, and an
inspiration to me, and to many
others. So, as a tribute to her and
a reminder to us, this quote will
always be here on her page.

"To laugh often
and much; To
win the respect
of intelligent
people and the
affection of
children; To
earn the
appreciation of
honest critics
and endure the
betrayal of
false friends;
To appreciate
beauty, to find
the best in
others; To leave
the world a bit
better, whether
by a healthy
child, a garden
patch or a
redeemed social
condition; To
know even one
life has
breathed easier
because you
have lived. This
is to have
succeeded."

The background is
Carolina Blue in
honor of my Mom's
abiding devotion to
UNC basketball. She
always rooted for
them and carefully
charted their
progress in March on
our refrigerator door.
