

R. Scott Andringa graduated from St. Petersburg High School in 1986, Florida State University in 1990 and Stetson University College of Law in 1992. After beginning his career as a misdemeanor prosecutor in the State Attorneys Office in Clearwater, Florida he was promoted to Misdemeanor Lead Trial Attorney. He transferred to New Port Richey, Florida in 1995 when he was promoted to prosecuting felony cases. He remained in New Port Richey for nine years, prosecuting many high-profile cases including a landmark dance studio fraud case. Mr. Andringa was the prosecutor assigned to a controversial drug trafficking case that was later profiled on 60 Minutes, Nightline and in the New York Times. He was featured in the St. Petersburg Times for his performance in a local theater production, and in the Tampa Tribune when he resigned his position in New Port Richey, Florida to move to Key Largo, Florida in 2004, where he became the Division Director of the State Attorneys Office in the Upper Keys of Monroe County, Florida. He remained there until 2006. His tenure included a successful prosecution in a high-profile murder case. |

Since returning to his hometown in 2006 he has devoted himself to the representation of individuals and small businesses in criminal, traffic and a limited number of civil cases in Pinellas, Pasco, Hillsborough and Hernando Counties. In 2007, Mr. Andringa joined the panel of lawyers who are appointed by federal magistrates to represent indigent defendants in federal criminal cases. Scott is a recent cancer survivor who contributes his time as a speaker for the Moffitt Cancer Center and the Amandalee Fund to benefit Sarcoma research. He has participated in Big Brothers and the Model Mentoring Program at the Children's Home Society. He was a local board member of the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life in the Florida Keys and walked as a participant. He travelled to Portland, Oregon to ride in the Livestrong Ride to benefit cancer research. He coached children's soccer teams in Clearwater and Tavernier, Florida. Scott also participated as a volunteer in the Great American Teach-In, at juvenile teen court programs and as a judge in several moot court competitions in the Tampa Bay area. |
